Birmingham: Pakistan cricket team’s new bowling coach Azhar Mahmood will be taking over his responsibilities during the Oval Test match.
The former all-rounder has made an agreement with PCB for five ODIs and one T20 against England and two ODIs against Ireland. He will be taking charge during the fourth Test which starts on August 12.
Sources disclosed that Azhar Mahmood was offered a long term agreement by PCB but he agreed to sign in for a single series only. It’s also been learnt that since Azhar Mahmood’s county Surrey didn’t qualify for the T20 Blast Tournament knock-out stage therefore after speaking to coach Mickey Arthur he decided to join the team on August 12. After the fourth Test against England, the present coach Mushtaq Ahmad will return to Pakistan on August 16 to join the National Academy.
