Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament postponed due to COVID-19 surge in Malaysia


Karachi: The 2021 Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup tournament scheduled for June 18-27 has been postponed following a surge in COVID-19 cases in Malaysia.

According to the details, the 8th Executive Board Meeting of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation has decided to postpone the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

The meeting agreed not to hold the tournament this year and moved it to April next year.

It must be noted that under the auspices of Pakistan Hockey Federation, (PHF) senior and junior players are being given full attention by the individual coaching staff from time to time to improve their physical fitness with full SOPs.

Players and coaching staff also received the first dose of COVID-19 in this regard.
