Rawalpindi: The 25-year-old Babar Azam has revealed his aim as he wants to perform like the former Pakistan captain Younis Khan in Test cricket.
“My goal is to perform like top Pakistan batsman Younis Khan as I have played with him too, so the aim is to score runs just like him in Test cricket,” Babar said in a presser after the conclusion of day three between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Babar Azam was in awe of young Naseem Shah, who took a hat-trick and became the youngest bowler to do so in Test cricket.
“Naseem Shah bowled brilliantly, he has become a very good bowler at a young age and bowls according to the plan given to him,” he added.
On Yasir Shah who is not the best of his form, the T20I skipper emphasized that all the players have full support behind him as he has won them matches in the past.
“Bad patch comes in every cricketer’s game, sometimes you perform and sometimes you don’t and we all, the members of the squad are supporting him. We are hopeful he will perform very well soon,” he added.
It should be noted that in the first innings against Bangladesh, Babar Azam played a brilliant inning of 143 runs, including 18 fours and a six in his innings.
Pakistan’s position in the Rawalpindi Test match is very stable, Bangladesh scored 126 for six loss at the end of the third day, Bangladesh needed 86 more to finish Pakistan’s lead of first innings.
