Southampton: Number one T20I batsman Babar Azam loves listening to the praise coming from his fans for his cover drives.
In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Babar said being perfect at cover drives has a lot of hard work behind the scenes. “It took me so long to play a perfect cover drive. I spent hours and hours in the nets practicing several strokes with cover drives on the top,” he said.
“I love listening to praise for my cover drives. If feels special when people talk about your shots especially the one you like the most,” he added.
The right-handed batsman underlined the technique to play the front-foot cover drive. “I love playing front-foot cover drive. It demands a lot of concentration like you need your head still while playing it and making it perfect,” he concluded.
It must be noted here that Babar is currently with the national team in England. He will lead green shirts in the first T20I of three matches series today in Manchester.
