Babar remained the highest run-scorer in 2019 Vitality Blast with 578 runs in 13 innings at an average of 52.54. His run tally included a century and four half-centuries.
On his appointment with Somerset in the second consecutive year, Babar Azam is looking forward to yet another successful season.
“I really enjoyed my time at Somerset, and I look forward to coming back next year. Somerset has a very good squad and the supporters made me feel very welcome. Hopefully, I can help the Club reach the knock-out stages of the Vitality Blast and contribute to winning matches in the County Championship,” he said.
