Pakistan’s top-order batsman Babar Azam on Sunday have reached the milestone of 2000 ODI runs, becomes the second batsman to score fastest 2000 runs in ODI format.
The 23-year-old prolific batsman took 45 innings to reach the landmark of 2000 ODI runs.
With his brilliant knock of 33 runs off 36 deliveries against Hong Kong, Babar is now the joint-second-fastest-batsman alongside former Pakistani batsman Zaheer Abbas and former English player Kevin Pietersen.
While South African opener Hashim Amla is the first and only player to reach the milestone of 2,000 ODI runs.

Babar is also the joint-second-fastest player to score 1,000 runs in ODI. The star-batsman has represented the country in 45 ODIs, so far he has 1,973 runs at 54.80 and eight hundreds. In T20 internationals, he is averaging 53.00.
Meanwhile, Pakistan defeated Hong Kong by eight wickets in their first match of Asia Cup 2018.
Hong Kong have never won a single match against the boys in green.
