Karachi: Pakistan T20I captain Babar Azam has recalled his unbeaten 101-run innings against New Zealand in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2019 and rated as the favorite of the career so far.
Babar, during an interactive Instagram live session with Test skipper Azhar Ali, he was asked by the captain himself to reveal his favorite innings.
“World Cup innings against New Zealand is my favorite so far. The ball was helping the spinners a lot and Mohammad Hafeez asked me to play New Zealand spinners as straight as possible which worked for me,” Babar said.
The 25-year-old also said that he did not find veteran Proteas’ bowler Dale Steyn as difficult because his action is easy to judge.
“I didn’t have any difficulty facing Dale Steyn. His action is smooth so it is easier to judge the ball but apart from Steyn bowlers who have the tendency to bowl above 140 kph and are experienced like Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult, Pat Cummins always give tough time,” he added.
He also picked his favorite Pakistani and international batsman. ” Since the start, AB de Villiers is my favorite. From Pakistan, Mohammad Yousuf is the one I have liked the most,” he added.
