Babar Azam regains the top-spot in ICC T20I for batsmen

The man-of-the-series for Pakistan and Australia’s three-match T20I series, Babar Azam has captured the first position in ICC T20I ranking for batsmen for the third time in his career.

Azam scored 163 runs with the courtesy of 68*, 45 and 50 in three matches respectively, which gave him the top position in the updated rankings which ICC updated on Monday.

He surpassed Australian skipper, Aaron Finch, who had a forgettable outing against Pakistan in the recently concluded series, scoring just 4 runs in three games.

Babar Azam is dominating the T20I ranking with five and 32 points lead against the second and third-ranked Aaron Finch and KL Rahul respectively.

Due to Australia’s unimpressive batting performance in the series, Pakistan completed their first-ever clean sweep against them in limited-overs series.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s left-handed opening batsman, Fakhar Zaman is occupying the fifth spot in the same ranking.

Moreover, Pakistan’s spin duo, Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim have maintained their second and tenth ranked in the ranking respectively.

Whereas, Pakistan have kept up their superiority in the team ranking, maintaining a lead of 12 points against second-ranked India.
