Babar Azam makes it into Top 10 of ICC Test rankings


Pakistan middle-order batsman Babar Azam makes it into the top 10 of ICC Test Batsmen Rankings after a top-class hundred at the Pindi Stadium Rawalpindi in the first Test against Sri Lanka.

Babar Azam who scored a glorious hundred of 102 reaches him to 9th position from 13th. He is currently the number one and number three batsman in T20 and ODI format respectively. He along with Indian skipper Virat Kohli are in the top 10 batsmen rankings of all the formats of the game.

Opener Abid Ali for his innings of 109, the first men cricketer to score centuries on both Test and ODI debuts, has embraced the rankings at 78th position.

Young pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is on 47th whereas 16-year-old Naseem Shah is on 110th in the recently updated rankings.

Australia Marcus Labuschagne has continued to impress the cricketing world with his performance after scores of 143 and 50 in the Perth Test against New Zealand has entered the top five of Test batsmen rankings.

Mitchell Starc also climbs up to a career-best fifth position in the bowler rankings after destroying the kiwis.

In the ICC World Test Championship, India are leading the points table with 360 points, Australia on second with 216 points. Pakistan have their first 20 points of the championship after the draw.
