Karachi: English fast bowler James Anderson has applauded Pakistan’s limited-overs captain and top batsman Babar Azam.
Anderson, who recently became the first pacer to take 600 wickets in Test cricket, said that he loves to watch Babar Azam’s batting but doesn’t like to bowl against him as he makes him feel slow as a bowler.
“I do love watching Babar Azam. I prefer watching him from up here rather than bowling at him. He makes you feel slow as a bowler – and as a medium-pace bowler like myself, it is not ideal,” Anderson was quoted as saying by BBC Test Match Special.
The 38-year-old Anderson dismissed the 25-year-old Babar on two occasions during the Test series. It must be noted that Babar is the only batsman to feature in the top five in ICC batting rankings of all three formats.
