Rawalpindi: World Number three ODI batsman Babar Azam has received his cap of ICC ODI team of 2019 from former captain and first ODI centurion for Pakistan, Majid Khan.

Babar the only Pakistani to make it in the ODI XI of 2019 was awarded before the ongoing day 2 play between Pakistan and Bangladesh Test in Pindi Cricket Stadium for his best performances in ODI cricket last year.

“Thanks to Almighty, it’s quite an honor to receive the cap from great Majid Khan as he was the first batsman to score a hundred for Pakistan in ODI cricket,” he said.

“Very composed, well balanced and he has a hunger of runs,” Majid said on this occasion for Babar.

The 25-year-old Azam in 2019 scored 1,092 runs in 20 ODIs at an impressive average of 60.66. He also scored three centuries and six half-centuries.

The T20I captain in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in the same year made the Pakistan record for the highest score in an edition by making 474 runs.
