MUZAFFARABAD: Asad Shafiq scored 43 runs to help Bagh Stallions easily chase 170 runs against Kotli Lions to win their first match in Kashmir Premier League (KPL).
Set to chase 170, Stallions lost three wickets for just 59 runs. Openers Shan Masood and Zeeshan Malik scored 18 runs each for Stallions whereas Rohail Nazir managed to score just 8.
Asad led the command from there and scored 43 off 27 balls with the help of four boundaries a six to lay down a solid foundation for his team to win their first match.
Iftikhar Ahmed made 29 runs laced with three boundaries and a six whereas Amir Yamin scored 27 with the help of two boundaries and as many sixes.
Imran Khan Sr bagged three wickets while Khurram Shahzad took two wickets for Lions.
Earlier, Lions were bowled out for 169 runs. Ahsan Ali smashed his maiden KPL fifty and scored 51 runs off 37 balls. His inning included six boundaries and a six. Saif Badar and Asif Ali scored 39 runs each for their team.
For Stallions, Mohammad Imran Jr and Umaid Asif bagged three wickets each while Amir Yamin took two.
