Bahawalpur clinches Blind Cricket Trophy


Bahawalpur beat Peshawar by seven wickets in the final contest to win the 2nd Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Blind Cricket Trophy on Saturday.

Moeen Aslam came out with star performance for Bahawalpur as he smashed 75 runs off 37 balls to help his team pull off a convincing win.

Bahawalpur invited Peshawar to bat first after winning the toss. Peshawar posted a huge total of 205-9 in 20 overs with the help of Sanaullah who played a responsible inning of 79 runs.

Shafiullah also played a calm knock of 36 runs for Peshawar in the pressure situation. Mohammad Ijaz bagged three wickets conceding 37 runs for Bahawalpur.

Bahawalpur in reply chased the target with seven wickets and five more overs in hand. Moeen Aslam was the top performer with nine boundaries and a six during his stay at the crease.

Rashid supported his partner well scoring 62 runs off 31 balls. Shafiullah took two wickets for Peshawar.

Zafar Iqbal got the man-of-the-tournament award in the B1 category while Nisar Ali and Ayub Khan named the best player of the tournament in B2 and B3 category respectively.
