Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 64 runs in Women’s Emerging Asia Cup


Shaila Sharmin (3-20) and Rabeya (3-5) helped Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 65 runs in their third match in Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Colombo on Saturday.

Pakistan’s batting line completely failed to get off the mark as they managed to score 116 in reply of 182 runs in 50 overs.

Sent into bat first, Bangladesh posted 181-8 with Murshida Khatun scoring highest 69 runs off 112 balls. She played comfortably while settling herself at the crease and smashed seven boundaries during her stay at the crease.

Fahima Khatun made 34 runs off 47 balls with the help of just a boundary. Fatima Sana Khan, Nashra Sundhu and Syeda Aroob Shah bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Muniba Ali top-scored for Pakistan with just 27 runs. Huraina Sajjad and Tuba Hasan contributed 23 and 21 runs respectively.

Apart from Shaila and Rabeya, Nahida Akhter bagged two wickets.
