Bangladesh opts to bat first against Pakistan


KHULNA: Bangladesh has won the toss and opted to bat first in the first test against Pakistan, reports.

Batsmen Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Shahid will make their test debut for Bangladesh whereas Pakistan’s Sami Aslam will also be playing his first test match as well.

It should be noted that Pakistan side led by Misbah-ul-Haq will be looking forward to change the side’s fortune after the green shirts were whitewashed in the one day and also lost the only Twenty20 game of the tour.

On the other hand, spinner Saeed Ajmal has been replaced by Zulfiqar Babar.

Pakistan XI: Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan and Zulfiqar Babar.

Bangladesh XI: Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Soumya Sarkar, Shuvagata Hom, Taijul Islam, Rubel Hossain and Mohammad Shahid.
