Bangladesh puts on board 246 against Pakistan in warm-up


Sydney: Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah batted impressively and helped Bangladesh score 246 runs against Pakistan in World Cup warm-up match here at Blacktown Olympic Park Oval.

Had Mohammad Irfan not picked five wickets, Bangladesh might have scored more. However, the tallest international pacer conceded 52 runs in 9.5 overs.

Sohail Khan removed opener Anamul Haque cheaply for a duck. Bangladesh faced another blow when Irfan removed Mominul Haque, who scored 7 runs. It seemed a Bangladesh might face a batting collapse as they were reduced to 16-2 early in the match but Tamim Iqbal (81 runs) and Mahmudullah (83 runs) anchored Bangladesh’s inning.

They took the score to 184 in 40th over when Mahmudullah lost his wicket as Ahmed Shahzad had him run out. Tamim soon followed spinner Yasir Shah bowled him out.

Shakib Al Hasan (31 runs) was the only other batsman to have put some resistance. Mohammad Irfan removed him.

Apart from Irfan, Yasir captured two wickets, while Sohail Khan and Wahab Riaz picked one each as Bangladesh were all bowled out in 49.5 overs.
