Dhaka: Bangladesh’s test tour of Sri Lanka has been postponed due to health and safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The teams were scheduled to play three Tests in the July-August period. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has informed Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Yesterday, New Zealand’s test tour of Bangladesh was also postponed. This is Bangladesh’s fifth postponement since March, following the second Test and an ODI against Pakistan in Karachi in April, the tour of the UK and Ireland in May, and the home series against Australia in June.
England postponed their Test series against Sri Lanka in March whereas South Africa and India have also postponed tours of the island.
