The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is likely to announce a stand-in team management for the upcoming Pakistan tour, split into three phases.
As five-members of Bangladesh’s team management including Neil McKenzie, the white-ball batting coach and fielding coach Ryan Cook has withdrawn from the tour, the BCB to announce alternatives soon.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, Head coach Russell Domingo will be accompanied by physio Julian Calefato, Sohel Islam (fielding coach) and Tushar Kanti Howlader (strength and conditioning coach).
On the other hand, the BCB is in talks with Ottis Gibson for taking him on board as the bowling coach for Pakistan tour. Champaka Ramanayake, who is already working for the BCB’s development programmes, is the second option.
Meanwhile, BCB clarified their stance on Daniel Vettori who is their spin consultant. According to BCB, it’s a short tour hence they won’t acquire the services of Vettori.
It must be noted here Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Pakistan in three different phases. They will come to Pakistan in the first phase to play three T20Is on January 24, 25 and 27 respectively in Lahore.
They will come back to Rawalpindi to play the first Test of two matches series from February 7-11. The last phase of the tour is scheduled in April in Karachi. Bangladesh will play only ODI on April 3 and last Test from April 5-9.
