BERLIN: Juventus and Barcelona will be eyeing a treble as they face off in the final of the UEFA Champions League on Saturday night at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, ARYSports.tv reports.
Juventus confirmed their place in the final with a 3-2 aggregate victory over Real Madrid, after Alvaro Morata’s goal provided the team a much-needed draw at Real Madrid.
The Italian side were beaten twice in the group stages of the Champions League but managed to edge past Olympiakos in the points table. However, the side managed to organize themselves in the knockout stages and qualified for the final.
On the other hand, Barcelona won five of their six games in the round robin stage of the competition. They only lost to Paris St. Germain 3-2. They Catalunyans managed to book their place in the finals despite losing to Bayern Munich 3-2 in the second leg of their semi-final.
According to sources, Giorgio Chiellini is likely to miss the final due to a torn calf muscle and Andrea Barzagli is expected to fill his shoes for the critical encounter. However, Barzagli is recovering from a thigh strain as well..
Luis Suarez is all set to return from a hamstring injury as well.
