Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan is confident that they will get a positive answer from their government to visit Pakistan in January for a series of three T20Is and two Tests.
According to Hassan, they are a few steps away from reaching a final conclusion about Pakistan’s tour.
“We are in touch with our government and the things will be disclosed soon. We had already sent our women’s team and the Under-16 contingent there. We don’t have the leeway for the senior men’s squad yet,” Hassan said.
“Security is principal regardless of whether it is for an Under-12 side or senior side. It will be the equivalent for everybody, which is the reason I accept that we are probably going to get clearance,” Hassan added.
On the other hand, BCB’s boss clarified that they will not force the players on visiting Pakistan even after the security clearance.
“We cannot force any player to go, it’s their own choice. We will not pressurize anyone on touring Pakistan,” Nazmul clarified.
Pakistan is currently hosting Sri Lanka for two-match Test series with the ongoing test in Rawalpindi. The second contest will be played in Karachi from December 19.
