MUMBAI: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Ravi Shastri as the interim coach of the Indian cricket team, ARYSports.tv reports.
Shastri’s first test will be India’s tour of Bangladesh this month where his side will play three one dayers and a test match.
The former batsman and spinner has scored 3830 runs in 80 test matches and also scored 3108 runs in 150 one day internationals.
He also has 151 test wickets and 129 one day wickets to his name.
He served as the team director when Duncan Fletcher was India’s coach.
On the other hand, BCCI has included Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and V.V.S. Laxman in the board’s advisory committee.
