Bed bug bites land domestic cricketers in hospital

Pakistan’s former left-handed opening batsman, Imran Farhat on Tuesday claimed that he and his teammates were attacked by bed bugs during their match in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam trophy at Diamond Cricket ground, Islamabad.

Imran via his Twitter account posted a video and two pictures out of which one is of him with a bug bite on his left hand while the second one is of another bed bug bite victim.

“Going to the hospital from ground after a horrible attack by bugs during the match,” Imran put this as the caption of his picture.

According to Imran, as many as eight players became the victim of bugs attack and many others are feeling sick due to the pathetic environment in the dressing room as well as in the ground.

“Everyone is feeling sick and struggling because of the ground conditions and all the players are on antibiotics,” he tweeted.

He (Farhat) in a video showed the environment of the dressing room where all the seats can easily be seen in a poor condition and the cleanliness level is zero.

Imran is representing Habib Bank Limited (HBL) as an opening batsman in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy 2018 and he posted the video during their match against Islamabad Regions.

Earlier, Former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq also posted a video from his Twitter account highlighting the conditions of the dressing room during the matches of country’s most prominent first-class tournament.

Misbah in his tweet said that “This is not a storeroom. This is LCCA ground’s dressing room–currently hosting first-class match between SNGPL &Lahore whites. Six test players are playing in this match. I think players deserve better than this. Outfield and pitch is also not encouraging for cricket”
