Ben Stokes becomes number 1 Test all-rounder


Dubai: England’s Ben Stokes grabbed the first spot in International Cricket Council (ICC)’s Test all-rounder rankings. 

On Tuesday, ICC updated Test rankings after England beat West Indies in the second Test of three matches Test series, first international series after four months. Stokes showed outstanding all-round performance by scoring 254 runs and bagging three wickets.

Australia’s Steve Smith remained number 1 Test batsman whereas Pat Cummins is number 1 Test bowler according to updated rankings.

On the other hand, only Babar Azam has made into the top 10 lists. He is settled at number 6 in Test batsmen rankings.

It must be noted here that England and West Indies will play the third Test from July 24. Pakistan and England will play three matches Test series from August 5.
