BPL: Pakistani players demand payment in advance


Karachi: BPL’s bad repute makes Pakistani star players cautious as they have demanded advance payment from their franchisers before participating in the Bangladesh Premier League event, some of them have already been paid 22 percent advance. On the other end many national cricketers have signed the Offer Letters issued by PSL, but a few have objected to the allocation of categories.

According to details, BPL has a bad repute on payment issues, in the past event many players suffered lot of difficulties, that’s why the Pakistani stars are not willing to take a risk. Its been known 4-5 players have already been given 22 percent advance payment and a similar amount would be paid while reaching Dacca and playing the initial two matches. The balance amount as promised is to be paid before the end of the event.

It’s also been learnt that Shahid Afridi (Captain) and some senior players have already been given an understanding by their franchisers that they would be paid full in advance before reaching Bangladesh. It may be noted that PCB has issued NOCs to the players tied to the grant of permission letters from the relevant Departments and Regions. On the other end few days earlier Offer Letters were issued to the National Players by PSL mentioning their categories, almost all players have signed except a few who have objected to their categories.
