BPL- T20 lands into trouble

Australian cricket team postpones its Bangladesh tour showing security concerns, they want to ensure VVIP security coverage before landing in Dacca. BPL faces tremendous pressure as foreign players might refuse to play.

The Under 19 World Cup being hosted by Bangladesh next year in November seems doubtful as the Australian cricket team’s refusal has put Bangladesh Cricket Board in a difficult situation and might adversely affect the Premier League program planned in November. It seems this could also jeopardize Bangladesh hosting the Under 19 World Cup as all visiting teams will start demanding fool proof security from the authorities before coming to Dacca.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is confused and in a fix as all visiting players in future would demand complete security and rebuilding their confidence would be a cumbersome task.

Apart from this BCB will be facing a huge financial loss due to the cancellation of tour as they will have to compensate their domestic TV channel GHAZI who were sold the broadcasting rights to cover the series.

BCB had also made commercial agreements inside the stadium, cancelling these agreements would lead to further losses. On the other end the Bangladesh cricketers after postponement of the international series have started focusing on their domestic first class matches to be played from Saturday. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan will be playing for their regional teams.
