Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah highly praised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for bringing the entire Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the country.
“It wasn’t easy to bring PSL in Pakistan, congratulations PCB and all people involved in this initiative. A very strong message goes out from here to the world, we are safe, we want cricket,” he said.
Shah was thrilled to see jam-packed National Stadium Karachi (NSK) and thanked Karachiites to come in huge numbers to make a huge noise for the only cricketing league of Pakistan.
“Karachiites, a big salute for you. Your support for PSL is appreciable. Congratulations Karachi, congratulations Pakistan, you are truly amazing,” Shah shouts out.
CM Sindh recalled the moment when he asked former PCB chairman Najam Sethi to consider Karachi as a venue for PSL. “I still remember when in 2017 the PSL final was held in Lahore, I requested Sethi to include Karachi in their plan for next year. Last year, we hosted eight matches and this time around we are up with the opening ceremony of this biggest cricketing event in our country,” he concluded.
