Lahore: Former Test cricketer Shoaib Akhtar reiterated that national pacers should show aggressiveness on the field to create fear on the opposition.
Speaking to the pacers via teleconference, Akhtar guided them on how to create an impact on the cricket field. “Being a pacer, you must build fear in batsman’s eye. This is how you will be able to leave a mark forever,” he told.
Akhtar advised bowlers to put efforts in pushing Pakistan to victories. “You will not become a big name until you drive Pakistan to victories. You need to have a simple formula, go out there and smash it,” he said.
Moreover, Akhtar appreciated Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Abbas and called them future superstars. “In my opinion, Naseem is next Waqar Younis, Afridi is upcoming Wasim Akram, and Abbas keeps the potential to fulfill the gap left by Mohammad Asif. But they all need to be as aggressive as they can in the ground,” he concluded.
It must be noted here that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given chance to current cricketers to interact with their on-field heroes. Recently, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Rashid Latif interacted with the current players.
