Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif made a comeback to competitive cricket after after more than 5 years as they represented Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).
In a match played at the Niaz Stadium at Hyderabad Salman Butt opened the batting for WAPDA and scored 135 runs off 143 balls including 14 fours. He led the team to a total of 277 runs in 50 overs which proved to be a match winning total as the opponent FATA side were bundled out at 136.
Fast bowler Mohammad Asif took 2 wickets for 22 runs in 6 overs and provided early breakthroughs and set the top upfront with the ball.
Although this was their very first match but they showed no signs of rustiness and went about their work in efficient fashion. Their international comeback could take some time but this is the best possible start.
