The Chief of Naval staff hockey tournament is set to take place from October 1 to 7 at National Hockey Stadium.
As many as eight teams will participate in a six day hockey tournament including Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Port Qasim, WAPDA, Punjab Police, NBP, Sui Southern Gas (SSG) and Sui Northern Gas.
According to the tournament officials, the winning team will receive the prize purse of Rs 0.5 million while runner-up and third position holder will get Rs 0.25 and 0.2 million respectively.
In individual performances, best player of the tournament will get Rs 50,000 while best goal keeper and highest goal scorer will pocket Rs 25,000 each.
According to the Station commander Navy, Commodore Naimatullah, the match entry would be free and open for common public.
While talking to the media Naimat said that the Navy has been working for the promotion of sports in the country and their vision is to take sports on high.
“Sports is really essential for a country’s progress and that is why we are contributing our best in promoting it in the country,” he said.
He further said that the Navy is ready to support the sports sectors in order to put Pakistan’s sports on the right track.
“We are ready to work collectively for the betterment of sports in the country,” he said.
