Clinical India beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in 2nd T20


India has defeated Sri Lanka convincingly in the second T20 by seven wickets at the Hokar Stadium in Indore courtesy brilliant batting performances from the batsmen adding valuable contributions while chasing.

The hosts were given the task of chasing 143 which they chased in the 18th over. Skipper Virat Kohli again stayed till the end scoring 30 runs off 17 deliveries.

Opening pair of KL Rahul (45) and Shikhar Dhawan (32) added 71 for the first wicket partnership. Young Shreyas Iyer made 36 after getting dismissed by Lahiru Kumara. Leg spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga picked the other two wickets.

Earlier Sri Lanka was asked to bat first by the hosts. The Indian bowlers were right upto the mark getting wickets at regular intervals. Young Navdeep was impressive, picking up two wickets by giving away just 18 runs which awarded him the man of the match. Shardul Thakur picked was the pick of the bowlers claiming three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundhar claimed one wicket each.

Left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav was on the higher side but claimed two important wickets of Kusal Perera (34), the highest run-scorer for the visitors and Oshida Fernando.

Both the teams will now face each other in Pune after the first match getting washed due to rain at Guwahati.
