COAS Bajwa meets Peshawar Zalmi, congratulates the PSL champions

KARACHI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Peshawar Zalmi at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Saturday, said an ISPR press release.

The COAS congratulated the Peshawar Zalmi squad on being crowned as the PSL 2 winners and praised their performance which led to their success.

The Army Chief also congratulated the PSL and PCB for staging the tournament finale in Lahore and also thanked the foreign players who featured in the historical match.

Gen Bajwa said cricket was Pakistan’s most favourite sport and it’s a force that unites the nation. He advised players to keep bringing good name to Pakistan with their performances.

The Zalmi squad were humbled by Bajwa’s and were pleasantly surprised knowing the COAS is a big fan of the game and had great knowledge about it.

They assured the COAS they are “soldiers of Pakistan and stand with the Pakistan Army in promoting peace & national harmony”. The also acknowledged the sacrifices by Army for bringing peace and stability.
