Skipper Babar Azam is strongly looking forward to leading his side Central Punjab from the front against Northern in the final of Quaid-e-Azam (QeA) Trophy 2019.
In an interaction with reporters at National Stadium Karachi (NSK) before the final, scheduled from December 27 to 30, Babar said that players are in good touch and following their strong performance throughout, they are looking forward to clinching the first inaugural edition of the QeA in the newly developed domestic structure.
“I think the players are in great touch having won as many 3 contests as Northern. We will try to go on the ground with a positive approach,” he said.
Babar, who played only a contest before in this season, praised Ahmed Shahzad, stand-in captain, for maintaining the balance in the team. “Unfortunately, I got to play just a match in this year’s QeA Trophy. In my absence, firstly Azhar Ali and then Shahzad led the side well,” he maintained.
“I haven’t played much of this season but I hope I will be able to continue my Test cricket’s form into this grand finale,” said Babar, who scored back-to-back Test centuries in two-match home Test series against Sri Lanka.
It must be noted here that table-toppers Northen and Central Punjab will lock horns on the final of QeA Trophy from December 27 at NSK.
