Lahore Qalandars have threatened the franchises after showing powerful performance against Multan Sultans chasing a mammoth total of 201 runs at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The skipper AB De Villiers led his side from the front scoring worthy 53 runs and also motivated his partner David Wiese who held the other hand scoring 45 runs. They both put 96 runs for the fifth wicket to dent the Sultans who batted well in the first part of the match.
Now the things are quite different for Qalandars as they will face Gladiators who are looking so strong having won all three matches they have played so far. With the likes of Shane Watson, Rilee Rossouw, and Umar Akmal the Gladiators have shown their dominance with the bat.
Watson, who is holding the Haneef Mohammad Cap for scoring highest runs (161) in three matches, can play an important role for his team against Qalnadars. His 81 runs inning against Multan Sultans was magnificent for Gladiators.
On the other hand, Qalandars have their strong opener, Fakhar Zaman who is just one run behind Watson as second highest run-getter of the tournament so far. Hopefully, a battle between Watson and Zaman would amuse the crazy crowd in the historic cricket ground of Sharjah.
Rilee Rossouw is the other strong prospect for Gladiators as the left-hander keeps teh ability to thrash the bowlers with power hitting. His powerful inning of 67 runs in the last match for Gladiators paid off well for them.
In-form Umar Akmal is a threat to his ex-franchise Qalandars as the right-handed batsman is once again proving himself a clean hitter of the ball. He has 135 runs in his account so far in this event and his 75 runs inning against Peshawar Zalmi made him prominent once again.
The skipper of Gladiators Sarfraz Ahmed is also strong support to his team as if he promotes himself up in the batting order then can be lethal for his side.
For Qalandars, Salman Butt can show his experience with the bat as the left-hander is making a comeback to high-profile cricket after almost eight years. He was not as impressive as expected after scoring just 17 runs but Gladiators for sure will be looking to get rid of him as soon as possible.
The right-handed young sensation Agha Salman is one of the batsmen who can play a crucial inning for Qalandars in the match.
If we talk about bowling then both the teams have balanced attack as Sohail Tanvir will lead the pace attack of Gladiators while young Shaheen Shah Afridi will give Qalandars and edge in bowling.
Rahat Ali, Haris Rauf, and David Wiese will add strength to Qalandars bowling attack while on the other hand Gladiators have the weapons like Ghulam Mudassar and Mohammad Irfan Jr in their pace bowling.
Sandeep Lamichhane, the first player from Nepal to play PSL, will show variations with his leg spin while Mohammad Nawaz and Fawad Ahmed will swing the deliveries for Gladiators.
The better team on the field will make their way to the victory line. Hopefully, the PSL’s audience will witness yet another exciting contest of this season.
