KARACHI: A division bench of Lahore High Court reinstated Faisal Saleh Hayat led PFF and vetoed appointment of justice (retired) Asad Munir as the administrator on Thursday.
Faisal Saleh Hayat held the position of president of the federation after winning elections. However, Pakistan Sports Board’s intervention and the challenge from his rival Arshad Lodhi caused the stir.
As a result, a single bench of Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan appointed Justice (retired) Asad Munir as the administrator of the federation to run its affairs till a new president is elected with fresh elections.
The decision was then challenged by Hayat’s group before a division bench through an intra court appeal.
Ayesha A Malik headed bench finally gave the decree in favour of Faisal Saleh Hayat and asked Munir to give charges immediately to the elected president. Moreover, the court demanded details of expenses made during his time as the administrator.
