27-year-old cricketer in India commits suicide after missing IPL contract


Mumbai club cricketer, Karan Tiwari was found dead at his Malad residence as he was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room.

According to reports, the 27-year-old pacer was under severe depression after missing his selection for IPL 2020 and also due to concerns over his professional career.

“A local-level cricket player who bowled in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy nets allegedly committed suicide here, an official of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) said on Tuesday as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Karan had a fair experience of bowling to IPL teams in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. He was called as “Junior Steyn” due to the identical bowling action of South African legend, Dale Steyn.
