The football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo broke down in tears during an interview with a British journalist Piers Morgan after a video of his late father being shown to him.
The Portuguese legend saw the video of his father Jose Dinis Aveiro who passed away at the age of 52 in which he was talking about the pride he felt for his son.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said that he became number one but his father never saw him achieving anything.
“I never saw that video. Unbelievable.” The anchor asked Ronaldo what it was that made him so emotional, the footballer replied, “To be the number one and he doesn’t see anything. He doesn’t see me receive awards.”
“My family see, my mum, my brothers, even my old son. But my father, he didn’t see nothing,” the-34-year old mourned.

Ronaldo is the world’s most marketable player, earning comfortably more in endorsements than both Lionel Messi and Neymar. According to Forbes, his contract with Juventus is worth approximately £30million per year, with no extra bonuses or incentives in the deal.
