Karachi: Peshawar Zalmi has sought permission from Pakistan Super League (PSL)’s technical committee to include their mentor Hashim Amla and head coach Darren Sammy as a player in their squad against Multan Sultans in an important match today at National Stadium.
Reliable sources have confirmed to ARY Sports that Zalmi wants to include Amla and Sammy as players in the squad as all of their foreign players have decided to leave Pakistan due to Coronavirus fear. Players including Tom Banton, Liam Dawson, Liam Livingstone, Lewis Gregory, Carlos Brathwaite are going back to their homes.
On the other hand, PCB has allowed all the franchises to include local players in place of foreigners with the permission of PSL’s technical committee. The cricket board had already confirmed that players are free to make their decision whether to play or following the current situation.
It must be noted here that Zalmi has to win their last match in order to make their position strong for playoff qualification. They currently have nine points in as many matches.
The Top-four team will play semi-finals on March 17 in Lahore followed by final on March 18 according to the revised schedule released by PCB on Friday.
