DUBAI: International Cricket Council (ICC) issued the fresh one day rankings on Monday in which South Africa captain AB de Villiers and Australian bowler Mitchell Starc are named the No.1 batsmen and bowler respectively, ARYSports.tv reports.
Australia tops the ODI rankings for teams after winning the World Cup on Sunday whereas India and South Africa are at second and third place respectively.
Runners up of the mega event New Zealand climb to fourth place whereas Pakistan is at seventh position.
Mitchell Starc of Australia leads the bowlers’ rankings thanks to his performance in the World Cup in which he took 22 wickets and was named the Player of the tournament. South Africa’s Imran Tahir is at second place while Pakistan’s ace spinner Saeed Ajmal is at the third spot.
Proteas captain AB de Villiers still leads the batsmen’s rankings following Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka and Hashim Amla of South Africa at second and third place.
