Rawalpindi: Karachi Kings’ head coach Dean Jones is confident that his team will make a strong comeback when they take on Islamabad United in their fourth match in Rawalpindi on Sunday [March 1].
Jones, while talking to the media after his team lost against Multan Sultans by 52 runs, said that he has identified what went wrong and needs to be fixed for the next match.
“We lacked in all departments, dropped catches, didn’t bowl into the right areas. I am really disappointed with the way our team performed. None of our foreign batsmen batted long and get us going. More importantly, we lacked confidence,” Kings’ head coach explained.
The most successful coach in the PSL also recognized that leg-spinners Imran Tahir and Shahid Afridi created an impact for Sultans and also hinted towards going with probably two regular spinners in the next match.
“If you look at today’s match so left-arm spinners went for runs. I think the leg-spinners made a huge impact for Sultans. A leg-spinner and Umer Khan maybe give us a better combination in Rawalpindi which is one of the best cricket wickets around here,” Jones hinted at playing Usama Mir and Umer, both together in the next match against Islamabad United.
On the other hand, the former Australian cricketer highly praised Multan’s crowd which cheered both the teams out there. “It was a fantastic atmosphere out there. Fans enjoyed the match a lot and cheered both the teams,” he concluded.
