We saw one of the rarest moments in the cricket when a player refused to abide by his captain’s orders during a quarter final of the World Cup.
Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq apparently ordered his team mate Sohaib Maqsood to stand at short leg but Maqsood reportedly refused to do so during Pakistan’s quarter final against Australia.
The captain took back the helmet from Maqsood and stood on the position himself.
The incident took place when left arm pacer Wahab Riaz was bowling his memorable spell to Shane Watson.
We cannot state that whether Maqsood was too scared to stand in that position or there was some other story in the episode.
Misbah won the hearts by leading his side from the front but Maqsood added a new controversy into the list of Pakistan’s cricketing woes.
