The Pakistan Super League’s draft is the most important stage of the league as all the players will find out which team they will play for and hence a clear picture of the combination of every team will be visible.
Before we move on it is important to point out the fact that there are some discrepancies in the official draft list. Mohammad Sami, who is a fast bowler and was once part of the Pakistan setup, has been included in two categories of the league i.e. the Gold and Silver category. This could cause a major problem during the drafting process which is why it is imperative that the list is edited and the situation should be clarified by the chief selector Haroon Rasheed, who according to Najam Sethi was responsible for the compilation of this list, as soon as possible.
Pakistan’s retired all rounder Abdul Razzaq is also not included in any category of the draft which is quite surprising because when Brett Lee, Azhar Mahmood and Paul Collingwood can make the list then it makes absolutely no sense that Razzaq is left out.
Hopefully these mistakes will be rectified in the near future.
The drafting process is supposed to begin on the 21st of December and will end the next day. The official date of the beginning of Pakistan’s premier T20 league is 4th February 2016 and it will conclude on the 23rd of February.
