KARACHI: Former international cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi defended young fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi who bagged the man-of-the-match award against England in the second T20I on Friday.
Speaking to reporters in a private event, Afridi hailed the team’s comeback in T20Is and asked people to support them in hard times. “These are our players and we need to support them, back them in hard times,” he said.

“People criticized Shaheen a lot. He is a good bowler and it is unfair to criticize him or any other player on few bad performances,” he added.
Afridi disclosed that he talked to Shaheen, Shadab, and few others before the match. “Being a senior player, I try to conversate with them whenever I get a chance. And, I think all seniors should take this responsibility,” he concluded.
