Karachi: Karachi was hit by a heavy dust storm on Wednesday and the city’s National Cricket Stadium was one of its affectees.
According to a local news channel, Teflon roofs installed over Imran Khan and Javed Miandad enclosures have ripped at six different spots. Reportedly, the stadium’s entrance wall has also been damaged during the strong winds.
A PCB spokesperson has also confirmed the damage caused during Wednesday’s night dust storm and assured quick repair work in the stadium.
It must be noted that the NSK had been renovated at an estimated cost of Rs1.5 billion last year. The Teflon roofs were specially imported from Germany and said to have a life of around 20 to 30 years with an ability to absorb heat and heavy storms.
