England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed 55-men back to training group as England men’s team prepare for the prospect of behind-closed-doors cricket.
A total of 55 players will return to individual sessions at 11 venues around the country by next week, however, opening batsman Alex Hales does not feature on the list.
“The ECB continues to work closely with its county partners to provide a safe and efficient return to practice for players, and is grateful for the support of the counties in assisting with the coaching provision across this period,” ECB said in a statement.
England is scheduled to face West Indies for three Test matches in July, with Pakistan visiting for three Tests and as many T20Is in August.
“It’s really pleasing to be in a position to have players returning to training and a huge amount of work has been done by many to get us this far,” ECB Performance Director Mo Bobat said.
“We will need to continue to work closely with our medical team and government to ensure that our return to training and play activities are in line with best-practice guidelines,” he added.
It must be noted that a few weeks back, ECB allowed its bowlers to resume individual training at different venues across the country. 18 bowlers were given permission to train individually.
