England women beat Pakistan women by 75 runs in first ODI


Openers Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt set a tone for England to beat Pakistan by 75 runs in the first of three matches ODI series at Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

Both openers provided a solid 188 runs partnership to England as they posted 184-6 after opting to bat first. Beaumont scored 107 runs off 141 balls with nine boundaries while Wyatt contributed 110 runs off 95 balls laced with 12 boundaries and three sixes in the dominant partnership of the match.

Skipper Heather Knight with the help of three boundaries scored 41 runs.

For Pakistan, Rameen Shamim bagged three wickets while Nashra Sandhu and Bismah Maroof shared a wicket apiece.

In reply, Pakistan started losing their wickets from the very start as both openers fell for just five runs. Bismah Maroof top-scored for the green shirts with 69 runs of 94 deliveries. Her inning included six boundaries.

Aliya Riaz made 39 runs off 35 balls with the help of seven boundaries.

Kate Cross dominate with the bowl as she bagged four wickets for just 32 runs. Sarah Glenn and Katherine Brunt took two wickets each.
