The fourth season of the Pakistan Super League is scheduled to start from February 14 in Dubai with a star-studded ceremony followed by the first game of the edition between the reigning champions, Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars.
Here are a few interesting facts that every PSL fan should know.
PSL 4 will feature around 40 foreign cricketers, which include South Africa’s Mr 360, AB de Villiers, who has a huge fan following all around the world. Then there is the second-ranked T20I batsman of the world, New Zealand’s Colin Munro, who will be representing Karachi Kings. Carlon Brathwaite will also be making his PSL debut in this season.
The most successful batsman
Peshawar Zalmi’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Kamran Akmal is the highest scorer in the history of PSL with 929 runs under his belt in 34 matches with the help of two centuries.
Most boundaries by a batsman
It is once again Peshawar Zalmi’s flamboyant opening batsman, Kamran Akmal, who has the feat of striking more boundaries than any of his compatriots in the PSL. He has scored 634 out of 929 runs with the help of boundaries, which include 85 fours and 49 sixes.
Most sixes in an inning by a batsman
Umar Akmal, who has played the first three seasons of the PSL for Lahore Qalandars and will feature Quetta Gladiators in this season, has the record of hitting eight 6’s in an inning.
Most successful bowler
Peshawar Zalmi is one of the most consistent teams in the PSL, one of the reasons for that is they have the highest run-scorer, Kamran Akmal and they have also got the most successful bowler in the history of PSL, Wahab Riaz in their ranks. The left-arm express pacer has hunted 48 batsmen in 31 games.
