Discarded all-rounder Fahim Ashraf is confident to get rid of bad time and make a comeback in the national team as soon as possible.
Often marred by injuries, Fahim gained his form back when he took fifer for Central Punjab against Northern on Day 1 of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s final at National Stadium Karachi. He has recently returned from National Cricket Academy (NCA) after completing the rehabilitation process.
“This performance has definitely given me confidence. I clicked at the right time for my team which is the biggest positive for me in this performance,” Fahim said while talking to the reporters after the opening day of the final contest ended.
“Our team is in a strong position and I think we can take this match away from Northern from here. Our bowlers remained on top with quality line and length,” he added.
Fahim brushed aside the concerns regarding injuries caused due to the extra pressure of playing all three formats at the same time.
“I don’t think such things create problems. I am lucky to play and perform in all three formats for Pakistan at the same time. As far as recovery from injuries is concerned, so it is hard for a player anyway. You need so much courage and motivation to get back on the track,” he said.
It must be noted here that Fahim’s fifer helped Central Punjab restrict Northern to 254-10 in the first inning on Day 1 of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s final.
