Recently, Pakistan Cricket Board decided not to give the existing coaching staff any extension, who had Grant Flower as the batting coach and held the position for five years, which is the longest tenure for any coach in Pakistan’s cricketing history.
Iqbal made his international debut for Pakistan in an ODI against Sri Lanka on February 19, 2000. He has represented Pakistan in 26 Test matches and 18 One Day Internationals in his career. He has also captained Pakistan at U-15 and U-19 level.
He is the only prominent candidate to apply for the post of Pakistan’s batting coach so far. On the other hand, Misbah Ul Haq is a strong contented to become the head coach of Pakistan replacing Mickey Arthur.
