Lahore: Faisal Iqbal has been cleared to rejoin the Balochistan cricket team as head coach for the upcoming First XI National T20 Cup, scheduled to start from September 30, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday.
The 38-year-old was issued with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by his parent organization, Pakistan International Airlines.
“The PCB is pleased Faisal Iqbal has promptly and swiftly resolved an ongoing matter that could have resulted in his distraction during an important period for his side and the tournament,” PCB General Manager Domestic, Junaid Zia, said.
“Hopefully, Faisal will now fully focus on the job in hand and make a meaningful contribution as head coach of the Balochistan cricket team” he added.
It must be noted that Faisal was removed on September 24 after the former Test batsman was not granted NOC by PIA. However, he will now join the squad in Multan. He is currently in isolation in Muridke after last week, he along with assistant coach Wasim Haider breached COVID-19 protocols.
