Left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman gained his form back as he smashed fighting 82 runs off 54 balls to help Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) beat Central Punjab (CP) by three wickets in their last group stage match in the National T20 Cup.
Fakhar kept ticking the scoreboard in the right direction as the hard-hitting batsman played with a handsome strike-rate of 151.85 and his inning included seven boundaries and two sixes.
Earlier, while batting first, skipper Babar Azam led CP from the front as the posted 177-3 in 20 overs. The number one ranked T20I batsman struck 83 runs off 81 deliveries and his eye-catching knock includes five boundaries and four sixes.
Middle-order batsman Umar Akmal also found his form back as he made 53 runs off 37 balls with two boundaries and four maximums.
Irfanullah Shah and Mohammad Mohsin bagged a wicket each for KP.
After being set to chase the commendable total, KP lost Sahibzada Farhan who mad just 17 runs. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who is the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament so far with 200 runs, managed to score just two runs before getting LBW to Zafar Gohar.
Fakhar partnered with Iftikhar Ahmed (19) for 62 runs and Khushdil Shah (46) for 68 runs to hand a magnificent win to KP to remain fourth on the points table with four points.
